MATCH REPORT
Earlier in the day I had thought that we would have yet another rain off at Plough Lane, as the weather looked very muggy and there was some rain in the morning. However the rain cleared up ad the sun came out. This will have pleased many Wimbledon Supporters as we have suffered 6 rain off already this season. However heat 1 saw a very nasty fall for Newport rider Karl Mason, this saw a lengthy delay to the meeting as he was taken to hospital. Racing re- commenced at approximatley 8:35 about an hour after the meeting had official started.
Heat 1 (re run) Evans, Wright, Ezergailis, Legg 62.4 5-1 5-1
The rerun of heat one was run about an hour after Karl Masons accident. Newport replaced Karl Mason with their reserve rider Karl Ezergailis in heat 1. The GMB Dons managed to get out the gate infront of Ezergailis and Legg to record a 5-1 to the GMB Dons.
Heat 2 (Re run) Ezergailis, Cross, Hurst, Clement (FEx) 62.9 2-4 7-5
In the 1st attempt of this race Mewports Sam Hurst lifted high at the tapes he managed to keep the bike under control and continue with the race, however the race was stopped when GMB DON James Clement went wide and straight into the fence and being excluded from the re run. In the 2nd attempt of the race Ezergailis got the gate with Andre Cross, the referee ordered an unstatisfactory start when both of them collided with each other on the 1st bend.
There was another delay when Andre Cross was being checked out by the St John Ambulance as it looked like he hurt his foot when he collided with Karl Ezergailis.
Andre's bike came back to the pits and work was done on it to get Andre out in the re run.
In the 3rd attempt of this race Ezergailis got out and with Andre Cross sticking in 2nd this gave the Newport GMB Mavericks a 4-2.
Heat 3 Broadhurst, Hedge, Candy, Tutton 63.6 5-1 12-6
This race saw a great gate and ride by both the GMB Dons Gavin rode a good line after lifting abit high at the tapes, he shoed some good team riding with Wayne.
Heat 4 Clement, Burrows, Ezergailis, Westacott 63.3 5-1 17-7
This race saw a fantastic gate from James Clement, he shot out the tapes and got himself infront of Buzz, Burrows slotted in nicely to team ride with James and held of the challenge of karl Ezergailis.
Heat 5 Hedge, Broadhurst, Hurst, Legg 64.2 5-1 22-8
This race saw the GMB Dons wrap up their 4th 5-1 within 5 races. Gavin gated well, and took to the front, and team riding with Wayne he stated out infront for the whole race.
Heat 6 Evans, Wright, Westacott, Hurst 64.1 5-1 27-9
Newport GMB Maverick Jamie Westacott shot from the gate straight to the front of the pack. Unfortunatley for Jamie he slowed down abit going up the back straight of lap 1 and both GMB Dons Evans and Wright were close behind him and took their opportunity to both shoot past him. Gainning the GMB another 5-1
Heat 7 Burrows, Cross, Tutton, Candy 65.7 5-1 32-10
With Andre Cross gating well with Mark Buzz Burrows, this was becoming clear what the result was going to be. Matthew Tutton rode well to try and split the GMB Dons but just could not get past Cross who was riding really well, considering his collision with Karl Ezergalis in heat 2.
Heat 8 Wright, Clement, Legg, Ezergailis^(EN) 64.2 5-1 37-11
This race saw Newports team manager Peter Towersley bring in reserve rider Karl Ezergailis in for a Tactical Ride. Unfortunatley for the Newport Reserve he suffered a engine failure gifting the GMB DONS another 5-1.
Heat 9 Westacott, Broadhurst, Hedge, Hurst 63.3 3-3 40-14
This race saw Newport gain 3 points from Jamie Westacott, who rode a fantastic line and get the gate ahead of Wayne Broadhurst and Gavin Hedge.
Heat 10 Evans, Wright, Tutton, Candy 5-1 45-15
This saw the GMB Dons get back on the 5-1's with Matt Wright and Barrie Evans riding well, and both the newport riders no being able to find the answer to Evans and Wrights team riding.
Heat 11 Burrows, Legg, Ezergailis (Fex) Cross (Fex) Awarded 3-2 48-17
We went straight into race 11 due to the lenghty delay at the start of the meeting.
This race saw Andre Cross fall and excluded in the 1st attempt of the race. The referee decided to award the race when Karl Ezergailis also fell in the re run of theis race. The referee awrded the race win to Mark Buzz Burrows who was behind Ezergailis when he fell.
Heat 12 Broadhurst, Clement, Candy, Hurst 64.6 5-1 53-18
Wayne Broadhusrt and James Clement once again rode well to gain the GMB Dons an outstanding lead.
Heat 13 Burrows, Evans, Westacott^, Hurst 63.6 5-2 58-20
This race saw Jamie Westacott being brought into the race for a Tactile ride. Westacott was not able to find his way around Buzz or Barrie.
Heat 14 Hedge, Ezergailis, Tutton, Cross 64.2 3-3 61-23
Gavin Hedge did very well in this race he look hot from the gate and very smooth for the whole race. A very good meeting for Gavin. Andre did well to challenge Matthew Tutton for the 3rd place. Andre was clearly suffering from his heat 2 fall.
Heat 15 Evans, Westacott, Clement, Ezergailis 65-25
Dingle Brown gave the reward of heat 15 to James Clement which he realy deserved. Evans got gate and there was no looking back.
Many thanks to all the GMB DONS and the Newport GMB Mavricks.
Marc Norris had a demonstration race after the meeting Marc is the new boy in the wimbledon camp.

NEWS FROM WEBSITE EDITOR
Last Sunday Wimbledon was at Newcastle in their Conference League clash with the Newcastle Gems.
In heat 12 of the meeting Andre was involved in a horrific accident with Newcastle's Ashley Johnson.
Andre sustained very nasty concussion, and all his equipment helmet bike and leathers was wrecked. The impact of the crash was so serious that Andre helmet split in halve.
Although Andre raced at Plough Lane on Wednesday against the Oxford Acadamy he was still suffering from the effects of the accident on Sunday.
If you would like to send Andre any messages then you can do so by sending an email to Blaze2002away@aol.com or leaving a message on his forum on this website and we will make sure Andre receives them.
Many Thanks
Becky

With the Rye House Elmside Raider riding a 5 man team a win was looking possible for the GMB Dons. Rye House were already without the injuried Luke Clifton, along with Steve Boxall on under 21 duty and Tommy Allen who was injuried in the previous meeting this afternoon against Eastbourne. Rye House rode Rider Replacement for Steve Boxall, they brought in Mark Basbey for the injuried Luke Clifton and they gave Barry Burchatt and Harland Cook Tommy Allens rides.
Wimbledon were still minus the injuried captain Wayne Broadhurst, therefore rode rider replacement. The track was poor come the Raiders and Dons Meeting and most the GMB Dons found it very hard to settle down and get to grips with the track.
HEAT 1 60.5 EVANS, Harland, Bowen, WRIGHT 3-3 3-3
Barry Evans set the pace in this race as he shot from the tape, as he recorded a win in the time of 60.5. Evans seemed to settle down straight away. Both the Raiders settled into 2nd and 3rd places to share the points.
HEAT 2 AWARDED Cook, CROSS, CLEMENT, (FEX), Burchatt (Ex) 3-2 6-5
In the 1st attempt of this race both Andre and James came through the 1st lap laying in 2nd and 3rd place, Barry Burchatt came around Andre on the top bend taking Andre down through the fence and the referee stopped the race and ordered 3 riders only with Burchatt being excluded from the re run. In the re run Cook got the gate and with James going through the fence on the 3rd lap on the back straight this race was awarded to Harland Cook and Andre Cross and James Clement being excluded.
HEAT 3 61.3 EVANS, Bowen, HEDGE, Basbey 2-4 8-9
Brilliant race by Barry Evans who got the drop on Luke Bowen. Hedge nearly fell on the 2nd bend but managed to stay on and held onto 3rd place.
HEAT 4 Re run 59.9 Parsons, BURROWS, CLEMENT, Burchatt (Fex) 3-3 11-12
In the 1st attempt of this race Buzz got the gate along with Parsons and Burchatt, Buzz tried to go around the outside of both Raiders however seemed to lock up and spun out and fell into 4th place. On the 2nd lap Barry Burchatt came down after going out wide and straight through the fence. On the re run Buzz got out with Parsons but seemed to be very unconfortable with the track and kept going out wide and nearly fell again.
HEAT 5 60.5 Bowen, EVANS, WRIGHT, Basbey 3-3 14-15
Luke Bowen got the drop on GMB DON Barry Evans, and although Barry rode really hard after him he couldn't quiet find enough drive to pass Bowen. Mark Basbey fell during this race however remounted and continued the race.
HEAT 6 60.1 Parsons, BURROWS, Burchatt, CROSS 4-2 18-17
Buzz managed to get the drop on Joel Parsons, however once again Buzz lost control a couple of times and Joel managed to pass Buzz to win the race.
HEAT 7 62.3 WRIGHT, Parsons, Cook, HEDGE (Fell) 3-3 21-20
Great race by Matt Wright who held of the challange by Joel Parsons to give the GMB Dons a fantastic heat win and keeping the scores 1 point apart. Gavin Hedge looked very uncomfortable on this track ( he was also still possibly a bit battered and bruised from his fall last wednesday at wimbledon), as he went wide whilst on a 5-1 with Matt and came down. Gavin got up and managed to push bike to centre green.
HEAT 8 60.4 Burchatt, Cook, WRIGHT, CLEMENT 5-1 26-21
Good gate by both the Raider reserves, gaining a 5-1 they opened up the scores and gave the Raiders 26 points to Wimbledon's 21
HEAT 9 60.2 Bowen, BURROWS, Basbey, CROSS (FEX) 4-2 30-23
This race was re run as Andre Cross took a fall on the 2nd lap and with Mark Baseby coming down after him the race was re run. The referee excluded Andre for being te cause of the stoppage.
HEAT 10 60.6 Cook, Burchatt, HEDGE, BURROWS (Fell) 5-1 35-24
This race saw the raiders lead increase as Harland Cook and Barry Burchatt and Mark BUZZ Burrows all got the gate, however with Buzz spinning out wide on the 3rd lap and falling, the Raiders took fall advantage, Gavin Hedge managed to stay in 3rd and gain the much needed 1 point for the Dons.
HEAT 11 60.4 Parsons, Cook, EVANS (T/R) WRIGHT 5-2 40-26
Barry Evans the only rider really looking comfortable with the Rye House Track came out in this race for a Tactical Ride it looked as though Evans might have gained the 6 points, however he was not able to hold of the persistant challanges from Joel Parsons, once Joel was through Harland Cook managed to follow him therefore giving Barry 3rd place with 2 points.
HEAT 12 62.9 Burchatt, CROSS, HEDGE, Bowen (Retired) 3-3 43-29
Gavin Hedge got the gate in this race and started to look really comfortable and was in 2nd place coming off the 3rd bend however Gavin went wide and fell, he remounted and managed to gain 3rd place when Luke Clifton retired from the race.
HEAT 13 Re run 60.4 BURROWS (T/R) EVANS, Parsons 3 riders only 8-1 44-37
This race saw 3 riders only as Rye House had run out of replacments for the injuried Tommy Allen. GMB Dons's Dingle Brown put Buzz in this race for a tactical ride. This race saw the GMB Dons gain 8 points to the raiders 1 point as both the GMB Dons got yhe drop on Joel Parsons, on the 2nd bend Joel spun out and did u turn. The referee decided that this was an un satisfactory start and ordered all 3 riders back in. Once again both rider got drop on Parsons, although Parsons nearly got Buzz to relegate him to 3rd Buzz hit back and with Barry Evans holding the race up Buzz nipped through on the line to gain 6 of the 8 points for the Dons.
HEAT 14 61.9 Cook, Burchatt, CROSS, CLEMENT 5-1 49-38
This race saw Andre Cross coming out for a reserve ride instead of Gavin Hedge. However both the raiders got the gate to give the depleted raiders the 2 league points.
HEAT 15 60.4 EVANS, Bowen, Parsons, BURROWS 3-3 52-41
This race gave Barry Evans another heat win as he shot from the gates with Buzz, however for Buzz he fell and the points were shared.
